OTM Cattle 170624

On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 72 OTM Cattle.

A mighty show of cast cows and bulls was forward to a complete ringside of buyers with every beast competitively bid-for and selling with ease. The sale topped at 285.5ppk/£2172.66 for a 6-year-old British Blue X Limousin, weighing 761kg from Messrs TN & J Hall, Ainstable Hall, purchased by Mr D Barker. This home also sold a pure-bred Limousin cow to 263.5ppk/£2057.94, purchased by Mr Owain Llyr, this consignment of 5 averaged 249ppk/£1925.46.

Dairy cows easily sold to vendors advantage, topping at £1447.82/183.5ppk for a 7-year-old British Friesian from Messrs Mallinson, Hall Field, purchased by Mr L Fell. A consignment of 6 parlour cows, both UK and NL origins, averaged a staggering £1360.51/182ppk from Messrs DW Cannon & Son, Low Abbey, topping at £191.5ppk/£1450.19.

Meaty Black & Whites were consistently achieving 175ppk plus and comfortably into the 180s, with the strong competition in the live ring there is no time like the present to change your marketing pattern. More numbers are required for our next sale on Monday 1st July.
