Today we held our fortnightly sale of 80 Store Cattle. A larger entry than anticipated was forward, with the sale topping at £2495 for a tremendous 24-month-old British Blue X Limousin Bullock in excellent condition from Messrs Holliday & Graham, Bolton Wood Lane Farm, bought by Mr D Barker. This home averaged £2285, exceeding vendor’s expectation. Mr A Littleton, Demesne, sold a consignment of 10 Limousin Bullocks 19-20-months-old to average £2108, topping at £2335 on two occasions. Yearling named sire Hereford Bullocks topped at £1795, and a pen of three from the same home sold to £1685 from Mr SW Brisby & DM Chapman, Sykeside Farm, Soulby. Heifers topped at £2035 for a Limousin, 20-month-old, from Mr CA Cannon, Friarbiggin. Younger heifers at 13-month-old from Messrs A & N Bennett, Hollins Farm, averaged £1985. Demand seems to be strong, and today many more could have been sold to vendor’s advantage. Our next sale will be held on Monday 20th July, entries close strictly Noon Monday 13th July.
