Today we held our held their fortnightly sale of 202 Store Cattle.
One of the dearest trades ever seen here at Penrith, with a whole sale average of £1425.58 being achieved. Messrs JG & RW Nevinson & Son, High House Farm, topped the sale at £2275 for a British Blue heifer selling to Mr D Barker, with this consignment of three superb dairy-bred heifers averaging £2255.
Topping the bullock section at £2135 for two single Limousin X British Blue bullocks, twenty-two-month-old, from Messrs Wales, Thackwood, both selling to Mr R Dickinson, High Knipe. This consignment averaged £1936.
A cracking run of twelve Limousin X British Blue bullocks and heifers, sixteen-seventeen-month-old from Messrs EJ Ivinson & Sons, Skelling, averaged £1841.67. Topping at £2035, and closely followed at £2005, both selling to Mr W Armstrong.
A superb trade throughout the sale, with more numbers required to fulfil demand, customers were going home highly delighted, with the trade surpassing their expectations and more.
