On Friday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their sale of 490 Breeding Sheep.

A great end to the ewe & lamb sales this spring here at Penrith with Mr CL Park, Burblethwaite Farm selling Texel 4-shear ewes with strong lambs to £160 per life, purchased by Mr C Maclennan, with this consignment averaging £142.25.

The sale topped at £192 for some superb Beltex X hoggs with Beltex lambs at foot from Mr O Marrs, Wreay Hall Farm, purchased by Messrs Musgrave.

Mule hoggs sold with the greatest of ease, topping at £142 for a pen with Texel lambs at foot from Mr J Whitehead, Ploveriggs, purchased by Messrs P & SA Nelson.
