On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 40 OTM Cattle.

Another successful Cast Cow sale was had with prices high and very pleasing for all vendors of all classes.
The sale topped at 259.5p/kg for a over 30 months Limousin cross heifer, weighing 658kg, totalling £1707.51 from Newlands Farming, selling to Mr D Barker.
OTM Holsteins topped at 211.5p/kg on 2 occasions, firstly from Messrs Hayton, Penny Hill, and secondly from Mr D Graham, Melfell View.
Parlour Cows topped at 187.5p/kg (£1537.50) for a 820kg Holstein from Messrs Wilson, Hardrigg Hall.
None Farm Assured Beef Shorthorn Cows through the TB exempt section topped at 187.5p/kg, weighing 675kgs totalling £1205.63 from Messrs J E Bellas & Son, Croft Ends Farm.
Cast Bulls topped at £1728.85 (177.5p/kg) for a Beef Shorthorn from Messrs F R Crew, Gall Farm, selling to Mr D Barker.
