Prime Cattle - 15.01.24

On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their opening sale of Prime Cattle.

A much larger offering of prime cattle was forward with demand strong for all classes.
The sale topped at £2318.16/309.5ppk for a 749kg Limousin X British Blue bull from Mr D Raine, Old Parks, purchased by R Pearson Wholesale Butchers, this consignment of 4 averaged £2022.04/282ppk.

Messrs EJ Ivinson & Son, Skelling Farm, sold an OTM Saler X Limousin heifer to £1868.22/263.5ppk. A dairy-bred Charolais heifer, weighing 694kg achieved £1814.81 from Messrs M Ridsdale & Son, Yew Tree Farm.

More clean cattle and prime bulls are required on a fortnightly basis to fulfil the demand of our regular buyers. Our next sale will be on Monday 29th January.
