On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of Prime Cattle.

Prime bulls sold well, with plenty of demand for meat. A consignment of three excellent fed Limousin cross bulls from Messrs Lowis, Waterside House, averaged 272p/kg (£1880.25) for 691kgs. Topping at 283.5p/kg selling to Jewitt Meat Ltd.

An eighteen-month-old dairy-bred Angus bull from Mr T J Noble, Mellgates achieved £1432.99 (231.5p/kg).
