On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of Prime Cattle.

A much larger show of prime stock was forward, with all classes very eagerly bid for. The sale topped at 297.5p/kg (£2,133.08) for a fantastic Limousin cross bull, weighing 717kg from Messrs D Raine, Old Parks selling to R Pearson Wholesale Butchers, Bradford.

The same home topped the bullock section at 291.5p/kg (£1903.50).
