Store Lambs - 08.11.23
Penrith District Farmers Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 800 Store Lambs with trade again following suit and lifting to new heights with a ring full of eager buyers .
Top price of £124 was achieved on two occasions, firstly for a great single Beltex lamb from Messrs Brown, Old Rectory Stone and secondly for two great Continentals from Messrs Little, Ennerdale. The same home had a fabulous run of 16 Texel and Suffolk lambs, to average £115.63, with their Suffolks topping at £110.
Mule lambs also received high demand and interest, peaking at £98 for four, from Messrs Bousfield, The Old Forge.
Messrs Taylor, Swathburn sold a pen of 25 Mules realising £95.
Once again, a huge number of travelled and local buyers were present and more lambs can easily be sold.
