Store Cattle 170723
On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 88 Store Cattle.
A surprisingly sharp trade was witnessed for all classes of store cattle. Topping today’s sale at £1675 was a cracking twenty-four-month-old Limousin cross bullock from Messrs EJ Lister, Cockley Gill Farm. This was closely followed at £1645 for a twenty-seven-month-old Limousin X bullock from Mr AJ Glendinning, Dacre Banks Farm.
Heifers topped at £1515 for a lovely British Blue cross from Messrs J Stalker, Ratten Castle.
Messrs S & W Maughan, Street House, sold a fabulous run of 9 Aberdeen Angus bullocks to average £1402.
Messrs DW Burne & Son, Greenlands, sold a lovely packet of six Black & White bullocks for £1165 per head. Mr BR Davidson, West View, sold a lovely pen of 5 sixteen-month-old Charolais cross heifers for £1185 per head.
