On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 31 OTM Cattle.
A very sharp trade was witnessed across the board, demand is rising for all classes and more numbers are required on a fortnightly basis.
An overall sale average of 195ppk was achieved, topping at 277.5ppk for a pure Limousin cow, 8-years-old from Messrs W Richardson, Ghyll House, realising £2639.03, purchased by Mr D Barker.
Messrs M Bindloss & Son, Shap Abbey, sold a 12-year-old Limousin X British Blue feeding cow, weighing 718kg to £1863.21/259.5ppk.
Parlour cows from Messrs B & GC Donald, The Ling, topped at 183.5ppk/£1409.28, purchased by Mr T Fell.
The demand here in the live ring is surpassing any other way of marketing and now is the time to make the move. Our next sale will be held on Monday 24th April.
