In-lamb Breeding Sheep - 10.02.23
On Friday, Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held a special sale of in-lamb breeding sheep.
A huge surprise in the trade considering previous centres. Demand was very high with a full ringside of buyers, all classes were bid for keenly.
A flock reduction from Messrs R W & P M Jackson, Moss Dyke attracted plenty of interest with there consignment of mainly mule 3 shear ewes averaging £171.14. Topping at £175 on two occasions selling to Messrs T J & J M Powley.
A excellent entry of 85 huge mule ewes broken mouthed scanned 222% from Mr C Edmondson, Penruddock to average £150.28, topping at £162.
Inlamb Mule Hoggs topped at £160 for a pen of 20 from Mr A H Barker, Town Head purchased by Mr J H Baty and Son.
Geld Hoggs showed plenty of demand from keen bidders with Texel cross hoggs achieving £170 from Mr B J & S J Johnston, Nelson Hill, Penruddock purchased by Mr K Hunt.
