Store Lambs - 14.09.22
On Wednesday Penrith & District Farmers Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 1500 Store Lambs.
A great day’s trading, with a strong whole sale average of £71 with mostly 3rd draw lambs forward. Bigger farmed lambs sold with ease, to the same rates of our last sale.
Topping the sale at £104 for a lovely continental lamb from Messrs Holme, Weasdale, with many good skinned lambs selling over the £90 mark. A nice show of Suffolk bred lambs were forward and proved the easiest to sell on the day. Topping at £93 for a pen of 23 from Messrs Bailey, Far Bank End. Messrs Bindloss, Shap Abbeys run of 69 Suffolk lambs, sold to average £87.35.
Our next prize show and sale will be held on Wednesday 28th September entries close noon Wednesday 21st September.
