Store Cattle 010822
On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly Sale of 190 Store Cattle & Feeding Bulls.
As prime cattle prices begin to ease demand for store cattle held equally as strong as previous sales, with buyers eager to purchase. The sale topped at £1705 for a 27-month-old Limousin cross bullock from Mr JD Bowman, Croft House, purchased by Mr R Dickinson, with this consignment averaging £1648.33.
A consignment of dairy-bred Limousin heifers topped at £1695 from Messrs JG & RW Nevinson & Son, High House Farm, purchased by Mr D Barker.
A run of 15 to 16-month-old Limousin cross bullocks & heifers from Messrs R & E Holmes, The Green, averaged £1385, topping at £1575.
Another quality consignment of 14 to 15-month-old Limousin cross bullocks averaged £1386.67 from Messrs EA & W Strong, Ploveriggs.
