Store Cattle 040722

On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly Sale of 100 Store Cattle & Feeding Bulls.

A seasonal show of store cattle sold to some unbelievable returns, with a whole sale average of £1155.88 being achieved.

The sale topped at £1665 for a dairy-bred British Blue heifer from Messrs JG & RW Nevinson, High House Farm, Pica, purchased by Mr R Dickinson. This consignment of cattle averaged £1571.67. Dairy-bred bullocks from the same home achieved £1555, bought by Mr D Barker.

Rough cut Limousin bullocks, twenty-four-months-old, straight off the grass achieved £1525 from Messrs AJ Glendinning, Dacre Banks Farm.

Fourteen-month-old Beef Shorthorn bullocks from Messrs P & J Bailey, Far Bank End, realised £1075, bought by Mr D Barker.

A pen of Belted Galloway bullocks, over-thirty-month-old and straight off the fell sold for £1005 from Messrs CA & JR Brown, Deepdale Hall.
