On Wednesday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held a sale of Ewes & Shearlings with Lambs at Foot & Geld Gimmer Hoggs.

The final sale of ewes and lambs ended on a high with plenty of customers eager to purchase. The sale topped at £145 a head for a pen of Texel X Beltex hoggs with Beltex lambs at foot from Messrs TF & GL Pollock, Wreay Hall Farm, purchased by Mrs S Armstrong & Sons, Moorriggs.

A pen of seventeen Mule shearlings with twin Texel lambs at foot achieved £106 a head, selling to Mr C Dent, Naby View, Barnard Castle.
