New Fair Beef Breeding Cattle 2022

On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their Annual “New Fair” sale of Beef Breeding Cattle.

A lovely entry of good, genuine, local outfits were forward to a very active ring side of buyers. The sale topped at £4000 for a seven-year-old Limousin stock bull from Messrs TE Clark, Howgill Castle, selling to Mr WH Brass, Low Row, the same home sold a Limousin cross Blue heifer, with a Limousin heifer calf at foot for £2700 purchased by Mr TH Harrison, Shap. This part-dispersal of heifers and cows averaged £2300.

The annual consignment of first cross Limousin heifers with calves at foot from Messrs JD & F Wharton, Town Head Farm, averaged £2470, topping at £2600 selling to Messrs E & R Brass & Son, Barnskew.

Second calved dairy-bred Limousin cows topped at £2450 with a Limousin bull calf at foot from Messrs DW & DM Elliott, Bank House.
