On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of Prime Cattle.

The market topped at 269.5p/kg (£1862.25) for a Limousin heifer from Mr D Raine, Old Parks, weighing 691kg selling to Cocklakes Farm Shop.

Young bulls topped at £1918.78 (243.5p/kg) for a 788kg Charolais from Messrs Raine, Fog Close, purchased by Mr L Fell, this consignment of bulls averaged £1792.14.
