On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of Prime Cattle.

A small show of prime stock was forward to a complete ringside of buyers, with the sale topping at 255.5ppk (£1778.28) for a pure bred Limousin bull, weighing 696kg from Messrs WM & JE Shuttleworth, Barbon Fell House, purchased by Mr L Fell.

Prime heifers peaked at £1732.84 (251.5p/kg) for a Limousin cross heifer from Mr D Raine, Old Parks, selling to Cocklakes Farm Shop.
