April Dairy Sale - 01.04.22

On Friday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held there April sale of 37 Dairy Cattle.

Something for everyone today with a lovely entry of Dairy Shorthorns from some great local herds. Topping at 2200gns went to the Strickley Herd, Kendal with lot 2 Strickley Telstar 25 calved 16th February, fully organic giving 27 litres being purchased by M/s R J S & D M Addison, Kings Meaburn.

A wonderful consignment of 7 second to forth calvers, Holstein Friesian and Brown Swiss cows averaging £1818.57 from M/s Ridsdale & Son, Yew Tree Farm topping at £2180 for a second calved Holstein giving 35 litres purchased by Mr R Graves, High Hesket.

A Brown Swiss second calved cow topped at £2000 for a super powerful cow giving 30 litres being purchased by Mr J Stalker.

Holstein heifers topped at £1920 from J M & J Fisher & Daughters, Holmwrangle giving 30 litres.

Quality was in short supply and more could have been sold to vendors advantage.
