Collective Machinery Sale 250222
On Friday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their quarterly collective machinery sale of tractors, vehicles, plant, machinery & livestock equipment.
The sale held on Friday attracted record crowds, the likes of which haven’t been seen here before. This resulted in the largest sale day turnover ever for Penrith & District Farmers' Mart LLP. Over 1000 people witnessed in excess of 1000 lots of mainly modern and quality tractors and machinery going under the hammer. A sale clearance of 85% was achieved, this figure was even higher amongst the higher value items.
Customers travelled from all over the United Kingdom, and from as far afield as Poland, with a total of two-hundred and fifty people purchasing lots. A total of fifty-seven lots sold between £5000-£78000, topping at £78,000 for a Fendt 716 Vario, selling to reputable traders. This item is a record price for anything sold at Penrith auction mart.
Machinery topped at £18,800 for a 2018 14 tonne Broughan silage trailer, in immaculate condition.
The sale included some genuine, tidy farm sale items from Bolton Lodge Farm, firstly a 2012 model Abbey 2500g slurry tanker, with a 7m trailing shoe, this achieved £14,000. The same vendor also sold a 2011 registered New Holland T6070 tractor with 6600hrs on the clock, this realised £30,000, smashing its reserve price by £5,000.
Livestock equipment sold to a very sharp trade, especially with lambing time just around the corner. This section topped at £8,000 for a thirty-year-old Star livestock box and trailer with manual decks. Another lot that attracted a lot of interest was a quantity of home-made steel lambing pens, which achieved a staggering £2,850.
