OTM Cattle 251021

On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 62 OTM Cattle.

A very mixed offering of cows was forward with quality in short supply. The sale topped at 229.5ppk for a seven-year-old Limousin cow, weighing 920kg from Messrs G & JE Bell, Far Broom, realising £2111.40, purchased by Mr S McGimpsey, this was closely followed with another Limousin from the same home, weighing 927kg, achieving £1979.15.

TW Bell & Son, Hill Top, sold a run of aged Limousin cows to average £1158.66/163ppk, topping at 179.5ppk/£1242.41 purchased by Mr D Barker.

A ten-year-old Limousin cross British Blue cow sold to £1240.74/169.5ppk from Messrs JE & DJ Hutchinson, Hebblethwaite.

Black & White cows, in the TB exempt section, topped at £1136.53/134.5ppk from Skirwith Abbey, purchased by Mr M Helliwell.
