On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of Prime Cattle.
A larger offering of prime cattle was forward to our complete ringside of buyers. The sale topped at £1817.20 for a British Blue cross Limousin Bull, weighing 826kg, from Low Hullock Howe Farming, purchased by R Pearson Wholesale Butchers.
Charolais cross bulls from Messrs Raine, Fog Close, topped at £1725.08, with this run averaging £1651.28.
Prime heifers from Messrs RW & G Dickinson, High Knipe, topped at 265ppk/£1802.00, purchased by Cocklakes Farm Shop, with this run averaging £1696.
