Second MLG & Breeding Ewes 061021

On Wednesday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their Second sale of 1500 North of England Mule Gimmer Lambs and Breeding Sheep of all classes.

Demand for breeding sheep was stronger than first expected, with the sale topping at £198 for a pen of seven Texel X Beltex shearlings from Messrs TW & DA Halliday, Sandriggs, purchased by Messrs Fisher, Dufton House.

The Mule shearling section achieved a top of £156 from Messrs Walters, Hullock Howe, for a pen of twenty, bought by Messrs T & MD Beaty, Egremont.

Texel X gimmer lambs topped at £128 a head from Mr WH Raine, Lea Croft, Renwick.
