On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of Prime Cattle.

Prime cattle were good to sell, with plenty of demand from local butchers. The sale topped at 259.5ppk for a Charolais heifer, weighing 646kg from Mr JJ Crichton, Loughrigg, Egremont, realising £1676.37, purchased by Cocklakes Farm Shop. This run of cattle averaged £1602.96.

More prime cattle and young bulls are required for our next sale on Monday 13th September.
