On Wednesday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held our opening sale of 1000 store lambs which attracted a great ring of buyers both local and travelled. The trade was better than expected considering the national primestock downward trend.
The sale topped at £91 per head for a pen of Beltex X Lambs from Mr L C Walton, Goodlie Hill Cottage, purchased by Mr J Errington.
Very few lambs sold under £70 ahead with Mules regularly £70 plus, topping at £74 per head for a pen of 50 Alston Moor lambs from Messrs W & H I Watson, Sanders Close, purchased by Mr R Harrison.
All classes are required for our next sale on Wednesday 18th August, please advise all entries to the mart office on by Noon on Wednesday 11th August.
