On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly Sale of 150 Store Cattle.
A larger show of stores was forward to our complete ringside of buyers with demand being very strong for all classes. The sale topped at £1375 for a dairy-bred Limousin heifer from Messrs WJ Whitfield, Pennine View, purchased by Mr D Barker.
Dairy-bred British Blue bullocks topped at £1335 from Mr R Dawson, Southwaite Farm.
Black & White bullocks topped at £1275 from Mr GP Taylor, Swathburn.
Yearling Beef Shorthorn bullocks achieved £1105 from Messrs R & P Harrison, Hawbank Farm.
