Store Cattle 210621
On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 133 store cattle.
A larger offering of store cattle was forward to extra buyers around the ring, with demand being extremely strong. Many more could have been sold to vendors’ advantage.
The sale topped at £1455 for a twenty-three-month-old Simmental bullock from Mr R Hasell McCosh, Dalemain, selling to Mr D Barker. Heifers from the same home achieved £1415, selling to Mr D Whaite.
Dairy-bred British Blue bullocks achieved £1355 from Messrs S Allan & Sons, Greenhow, with the same home achieving £1295 for a pair of British Blue bullocks.
Twelve-month-old Aberdeen Angus bullocks from Lowther Park Farms achieved £1105, with numerous other lots at £1000 plus.
More cattle are required on a fortnightly basis to fulfil the demand of our buyers.
