On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 81 Store Cattle.
A seasoned show of store cattle was forward to a strong ringside of buyers, with customers reporting a £100 rise on previous sales across the country.
The sale topped at £1225 for a black Limousin heifer from Far Close Farm, Dufton, purchased by Mr D Whaite.
Dairy-bred bullocks topped at £1215 for an Aberdeen Angus cross Holstein from Messrs S & W Maughan, Street House, purchased by Mr J Linsley.
A run of eleven-month-old Aberdeen Angus bullocks topped at £1005 for a pen of three from Lowther Park Farms, purchased by Mr D Barker.
