Store Cattle 240521
On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly Sale of 180 Store Cattle.
The trade seemed to be equally as dear as previous sales, even though most feeding customers are reporting that the fat cattle are back £70-£100 per head.
The sale topped at £1475 for a black British Blue cross heifer from Messrs Smith, Far Close, purchased by Mr D Whaite. This consignment averaged £1401.67, with bullocks from the same home realising £1415.
A pen of 3 twenty-month-old dairy bred Limousin bullocks from Messrs Todd, Croft Head, sold to £1295.
Native bred cattle sold exceptionally well with Messrs S & W Maughan, Street House selling a pen of seven for £1275, this run of 10 cattle averaged £1257.
Our next sale is on Monday 7th June, entries close noon Tuesday 1st June.
