OTM Cattle 150321

On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 48 OTM Cattle.

A larger show of cast cows was forward to our regular ringside of buyers with all classes dearer on the fortnight. The sale topped at £2210.90/238.5ppk for a ten-year-old, none farm assured British Blue cow from Messrs JE Bellas & Son, Croft Ends Farm, closely followed at £1933.04 from the same home, both purchased by Jewitt Meat Ltd.

Black & White heifers sold to 174.5ppk from Messrs TR & PE Little, Low Moor Dyke, realising £940.56 purchased by Mr A Jarvis.

Plenty of Black and White cows, straight out of the parlour, regularly sold in excess of 140ppk. Messrs Strong, Low Brow sold nine-year-old Friesian cows to 148.5ppk/£1134.54 purchased by Dovecote Park.

A six-year-old Limousin Stock bull achieved 179.ppk/£1848.85 from Messrs TH Holme, Askham Hall purchased by Mr Owain Llyr.

Messrs TW Bell & Son, Hill Top sold a pair of ten-year-old, pure-bred Limousin cows to average £1222.14, topping at £1266.17/169ppk purchased by Dovecote Park Ltd.
