On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 23 OTM Cattle.

A smaller show of cows was forward to our complete ringside of buyers, with demand as strong as ever.

Record prices were achieved with Messrs W Richardson & Son, Ghyll House, topping the sale at £2111.30/245.5ppk, purchased by Mr Owain Llyr.

Dairy cows were definitely the easiest to sell with Mrs S Armstrong & Sons, Moorriggs, achieving £1214.85/133.5 for a seven-year-old Dairy Shorthorn cow, purchased by Dovecote Park, the same home sold Black & Whites to £1017.7/133.5ppk.

A Black & White bull achieved £1243.65/123.5ppk from Messrs Todd, Croft Head, purchased by Pickstocks Telford.
