On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their opening 2021 sale of 100 Store Cattle.
The opening sale of store cattle went off exceptionally well, although numbers were short of our buyers’ requirements. Many more are required for our next sale, which is our January Bonanza and will be held on Monday 18th January, please advise all entries to the mart office by Noon on Monday 11th.
The sale topped at £1315 for a twenty-month-old Limousin cross bullock from Far Close Farm, selling to Mr D Barker, this run of cattle averaged £1225.
Messrs HG Jackson, Littlebeck sold a run of sixteen-month-old Limousin cross bullocks to average 1235, topping at £1275.
Heifers sold exceptionally well, with British Blue crosses selling to £1185.
