091220 Penrith Store Lambs

Penrith & District Farmers Mart held their fortnightly sale of 800 Store Lambs of all classes.
A small show of store lambs were forward to a complete ringside of buyers with many more required to fulfil the demand.
The sale topped at £102 ahead for a cracking Beltex lamb from Messrs M Bindloss & Son, Shap Abbey selling to Mr M Bowe. This run of 44 lovely lambs averaged £91.70.
Swaledale and Herdwuck lambs sold regularly in excess of £50 ahead.
Mr G J Edmondson, Sunlea sold a run of 55 Texel X Herdwick lambs to average £77.93 topping at £82 for a pen of 26 selling to Mr W Shearer.
