On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 251 Store Cattle.
Once again, a lovely show of well turned out, strong cattle were presented to an eager ringside of buyers.
Topping todays sale at £2,055 was a cracking Simmental X bullock from Messrs A & S Robley, Nelson Hill Farm, purchased by Mr D Barker. The same home sold other bullocks to £1925. This run of ten bullocks & heifers sold to average £1,686.
JD Bowman, Croft House, had some great cattle forward, selling for the days second top price of £1945, purchased by Mr F Towers. This home sold four to average £1797.
A great run of cattle was forward from F Dickinson, Low House, which averaged £1707.
Messrs D & J Errington, Annfield Farm sold a lovely run of dairy-bred Limousin X bullocks & heifers to average £1615.
Longer keep cattle also remained in high demand with Messrs JE Bellas & Son, Croft Ends Farm, selling a great run of Beef Shorthorn bullocks to average £1268.
