On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 88 OTM Cattle.
A strong show of cast cows was forward with all buyers present ensuring all classes were well bid for, the sale topped at £2006.68/237.5ppk for an 11-year-old British Blue cow from Messrs G & JE Bell, Far Broom, purchased by Mr D Barker.
Strong pure-bred Limousin feeding cows topped at £1482.30/202.5ppk from Messrs WM & JE Shuttleworth, Barbon Fell House, Carnforth.
A consignment of Aberdeen Angus X cows in our TB-exempt section averaged £1329.11, topping at £1385.23/179.5ppk from Messrs A & S Robley, Nelson Hill Farm.
Holstein cows out the parlour topped at £1293.31 from Messrs Fisher, Yanwath Woodhouse. Young Friesian cows topped at 207.5ppk from Messrs JD & F Wharton, Town Head Farm.
A none-farm-assured 40-month-old Continental cast bullock topped at 181.5ppk from Mr C Maclennan, Stirling.
Demand throughout the sale was very strong with buyers keen to purchase, more numbers are required on a fortnightly basis. Our next sale will be held on Monday 20th November.
