OTM Cattle 250923
On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 88 OTM Cattle.
A much larger offering of cast cows was forward to our complete ringside of buyers, with all sold averaging £1162.69. The sale topped at £2077.06/243.5ppk for a Limousin X British Blue cow from Messrs W Atkinson & Sons, Demesne Farm, purchased by Mr S McGimpsey, with this consignment of three averaging 223ppk.
A Superb black British Blue stock bull achieved £2570.83/217.5ppk from Messrs WE & B Wilson, Undercragg, purchased by Mr Owain Llyr.
Plenty of demand for dairy cows straight from the parlour with Messrs DW Cannon & Son, Low Abbey, selling a Holstein to £1458.06/165.5ppk, purchased by Mr L Fell.
Young Holstein cows topped at £1321.89/208.5ppk from Messrs MJ Dent, Catterlen Hall, purchased by Mr A Jarvis.
Fleckvieh cows, out the parlour, topped at £1224.50/185.5ppk from Messrs R Packham & Son, Docker Hall, purchased by Mr A Jarvis.
Demand throughout the sale was very strong with buyers keen to purchase, more numbers are required on a fortnightly basis. Our next sale will be held on Monday 9th October.
