Store Cattle 280823
On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly Sale of 173 Store Cattle & Feeding Bulls.
A sharper trade was most certainly witnessed once again, with most classes up £50 to £70 on the fortnight. The sale topped at £1,700 for a superb sixteen-month-old Limousin bullock from Messrs R & E Holmes, The Green, selling to Mr D Barker. This consignment of ten Limousin bullocks and heifers, 15-16-months-old averaged £1,589.50.
Dairy-bred bullocks topped at £1,445 for a pen of seven Aberdeen Angus crosses from Messrs S & W Maughan, Street House, this consignment averaged £1,403.
Heifers topped at £1,575 for a sixteen-month-old British Blue cross Limousin from Messrs DW & TA Bell, High Dyke Farm, with this consignment averaging £1,551.
Dairy-bred Charolais heifers from Messrs PE & MA Holmes, Tilery Farm, topped at £1,495, selling to Mr A Skelton. A pair of none farm assured Aberdeen Angus heifers from Messrs M Ridsdale & Son, Yew Tree Farm, averaged £1,385.
