On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 38 OTM Cattle.
A very brisk trade was witnessed with all classes dearer on the fortnight, the sale topped at £2158.00/207.5ppk for a 6-year-old Limousin stock bull from Messrs Folder, Wescoe.
Cows topped at £1431.06 for a 9-year-old Limousin, weighing 732kg from Messrs RG & TB Wilson, Scales Farm.
Black & White parlour cows met a much dearer trade, topping at 177.5ppk from Messrs CM & CS Chappelhow, High Grounds, realising £1207.00 purchased by Mr S Helliwell.
Messrs H & EM Hunter & Son, Cape Farm, sold Holsteins to top at £1416.92/166.5ppk.
None-farm-assured Highland cows achieved £1024.18/177.5ppk for a 13-year-old cow, with a 22-year-old cow realising £918.94/161.5ppk from Mr C Maclennan, Stirling.
