Store Lambs 020823
On Wednesday Penrith & District Farmers Mart LLP held their opening sale of 750 Store Lambs, with strong lambs a flying trade.
The sale topped at £107 for a lovely single Continental lamb from Messrs TA & J Brownrigg, How Hill, this home also sold a pen full of 16 for £99, with this consignment of 40 selling to average £95.58.
Mule lambs were in demand, topping at £78 on 2 occasions, firstly for a pen of 52 from Messrs W & HI Watson, Sanders Close, and secondly for a pen of 26 from Mr J Nattrass, Shield Hill Top.
Cheviot Mules topped at £83 for a pen of 6 from Mr RG Richardson, Todd Farm. Mr AG Smyth, Victoria Road, sold a lovely pen of 16 Dutch Spotted tups for £91.
