OTM Cattle 170723

On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 40 OTM Cattle.

A few more buyers were present around the ringside with meat holding demand and trade comfortably equalling previous sales.

The sale topped at 205.5ppk for a Limousin cow in our TB exempt section from Messrs Lyle, Staingills, weighing 764kg realising £1570.02, purchased by Jewitt Meat Company.

This was closely followed at 203.5ppk by a square British Friesian from Messrs Mallinson, Hall Field, totalling £1495.73, purchased by Mr L Fell. Messrs CM & CS Chappelhow, High Grounds, sold parlour cows to £1207.44/175.5ppk.
Young Fleckvieh cows topped at £1358.80/197.5ppk from Messrs R Packham & Sons, Docker Hall.

Demand is very strong and more numbers are required on a fortnightly basis to fulfil demand. Our next sale will be held on Monday 31st July.
