On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 257 Store Cattle of all classes.
Trade continues to fly with sixteen cattle breaking the £2,000 barrier. Topping today’s sale at £2,435 was a strapping Limousin X bullock from Mr B Duffton, Aberdeen, with heifers from the same home selling to a top of £2,135. This run of twenty-four outstanding cattle averaged a staggering £2,014.54.
Messrs A & S Robley, Nelson Hill Farm, sold some lovely Aberdeen Angus, Simmental & British Blue cattle to top at £2,065, selling twelve to average £1821.
Messrs HG Jackson, Littlebeck, sold four lovely sixteen-month-old Limousin X bullocks & heifers to average £1552.50.
Mr KJ Burrow, Hacra, sold Limousin bulls to a top of £1145.
All classes of cattle continue to be in high demand and are required for our fortnightly sales. Our next sale will be held on Easter Monday, 10th April, entries close Noon Monday 3rd April.
