Rearing Calves & Stirks 030323
On Friday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 152 Rearing Calves and Stirks.
Once again four to six-month-old cattle were in high demand, the sale topped at £760 for a fantastic 8-month-old Blonde d’Aquitaine bullock from Messrs J Weir, High Lodore Farm, purchased by Mr M Holmes, with this consignment of ten averaging £698.50.
Messrs M & K Palmer, Grange Farm, sold two lovely British Blue bulls, 4-months-old to average £605, purchased by Messrs A Johnson, Oddendale Hall.
Calves topped at £425 for a great Hereford bull from Messrs TR & PE Little, Low Moor Dyke.
Black & White calves continue to fly, with all classes in demand, topping at £195 on two occasions from Messrs Graves, The Elephant.
