Store Cattle Report 130223
On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 368 Store Cattle.
Once again trade in Penrith remains very strong right across the board. Top price of the day was £1875, this was achieved twice, firstly for an Aberdeen Angus bullock from Messrs A & S Robley, Nelson Hill Farm. The same home also sold British Blue bullocks to £1815, with this consignment of twelve bullocks and heifers averaging £1645. The top sale price was matched shortly after for a Limousin cross bullock from Messrs D & J Errington, Annfield Farm, this home sold seven to average £1585.
Heifers topped at £1795 for a cracking Limousin cross from Messrs B & DA Bousfield, Glaslyn House.
Messrs S & W Maughan, Street House, sold a great packet of eight Aberdeen Angus bullocks in the ring at once to realise £1485. Some great runs and averages across the board today, with Messrs WK & D Hall, Bells View, selling five to average £1621.
Another leading consignment average to mention was Messrs A Tiffin & Sons, Wham Head, who sold four British Blue heifers to average £1557.50.
