November Collective Machinery Sale 2022
On Friday 18th November, Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP conducted their quarterly collective sale of tractors and machinery. By a country mile we held our best sale yet, with every corner of the site packed to full capacity and more. Every inch of the mart premises was in full use with cars and vehicles packed tightly in from all over the United Kingdom, plus a huge growing number of near 40 southern and northern Irish buyers making the journey over the water.
Entries littered the site with not a corner spare with 31 items selling in excess of £10,000 topping at £38,000 for a 2018 JCB 535-95 with only 2000 hours on the clock selling to an Irish buyer. The plant equipment within the sale proved to be very popular with an exceptional amount releasing their reserve with ease.
With over 70 tractors gracing the sale we could only squeeze 50 into this report. Buyers from all parts of the UK are now recognising this sale as one of the best for both vendors and purchasers having a fantastic clearance of stock. Topping the tractor section at £35,000 for a New Holland T720 2012 reg (6486 hours) with a further 7 achieving over £20,000.
Farm machinery also sold exceptionally well with clean, tidy entries in strong demand and surpassing vendors expectations by huge amounts. Topping at £15,000 went to an exceptionally tidy Hispec tanker only 5 years old.
A local farmer sold a very tidy kvernland 4 furrow plough achieving a hefty £9,500 once again heading back on the boat to Northern Ireland.
This sale isn’t to be underestimated with many customers describing it as one of the best of its kind, especially with no internet bidding creating a massive crowd and an unbelievable atmosphere. The buzz and face to face competition makes for a great sale.
