Store Cattle - 21.11.22
On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 314 Store Cattle & Feeding Bulls.
Numbers still keep coming forward considerably up on the year, a good reflection on the strong level trade at Penrith.
The sale topped at £1755 with a none Farm Assured Limousin bullock, 22-month-old, from M/s J G & H Miller, Smithy Garth purchased by Mr D Barker.
Dairy bred British Blue bullocks topped at £1685 from M/s D & J Errington, Annfield with a 28-month-old bullock purchased by Mr F Towers, this consignment averaged £1495.
M/s W K & D Hall, Bells View sold a consignment of 8 Dairy bred British Blues to average £1590.
Mr F Dickinson, Low House sold his consignment to average £1552 topping at £1685 for an 18-month-old, being purchased by Mr D Whaite.
Limousin x British Blue heifers topped at £1585 from Messrs Metcalfe, Home Farm purchased by M/s T N & F Cowan & Son, with this home selling 5 over £1500.
Dairy bred Hereford heifers topped at £1455 from Messrs J G & R W Nevinson, High House, Workington.
Dairy bred British Blue heifers achieved £1385 from Messrs E Hird, Park Head being purchased by Mr A Skelton.
