Breeding Sheep - 20.04.22

The demand for ewes and lambs has never been as strong. The number of customers around the ring for a Wednesday sale has never been seen like it before. This resulting in a blistering hot trade for all classes.

The sale topped at £145 a life for a packet of Texel shearlings with super Beltex lambs at foot from M/s W Richardson & Son, Ghyll House purchased by Mr N Fisher, with the consignment averaging £103.51.

M/s J M & J Fisher & Daughters, Holmewrangle sold a run of well turn out Mule ewes with Charollais x Beltex lambs at foot to average £84.75 topping at £90 a life. Broken mouthed ewes with single lambs to £90 a life. Closely followed at £88 for Mule 2 shears with twin lambs at foot.
