Store Cattle 310122
On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 318 store cattle.
Over double the number of store cattle was sold in comparison to this sale last year, with extra buyers also present.
The sale topped at £1655 for a twenty-month-old British Blue X Limousin bullock from Town Head, Aberdeenshire, selling to Mr D Barker.
Thirty-four cattle sold in excess of £1300, with heifers topping at £1585 for a pair of cracking nineteen-month-old black Limousins from Messrs Lowis, Waterside House, selling to Messrs Foley Brothers, Capheaton. This consignment averaged £1479.
Messrs JG & RW Nevinson & Son, High House Farm, Pica, sold a consignment of black Limousin dairy-bred cattle to average £1472.50, topping at £1545 for a bullock selling to Mr F Towers, and a heifer from the same home realising £1535, selling to Mr W Armstrong.
A consignment of strong, hard British Blue & Limousin cross dairy-bred bullocks from Messrs WK & D Hall, Bells View averaged £1405.
Plenty of demand for cattle again, with extra buyers returning and taking advantage of the various classes of cattle through our ring.
