On Saturday Penrith & District Farmers Mart LLP held an onsite sale of tractors, machinery, vintage, plant, small tools & equestrian (saddlery, harnesses, carriages & stable equipment) on behalf of Newton Trailer Centre, who are reconstructing their business, and Mr N Blackburn.
A large crowd of buyers was forward with some items even heading over the water to Southern Ireland, with further interest from as far away as Aberdeen, right down to the south coast of England.
Topping the sale at £15,000 was a Welger D4000 large square baler, in good working condition, selling to local farmers Messrs DH & ER Strong & Son.
A beautiful John Deere 2130 show tractor sold to £7,650, which attracted plenty of bidding and ended up in the hands of the trade.
