August Machinery Sale
On Friday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their quarterly collective machinery sale of 750 lots of tractors, vehicles, plant, machinery & livestock equipment.
We didn’t think it was possible to break our last sales records, but we smashed it with an extra 200 lots forward. Over 94 lots sold in excess of £1,000, topping at £29,000 for a Massey Ferguson 5455 Dyna 4, 2012 reg, with an MX loader from a local hill farm, selling on to local farmers.
A crowd of buyers was witnessed like never before, with prices overwhelming the crowds. Demand from across the whole of the United Kingdom was great, with a further thirteen Northern and Southern Irish buyers present making sure all lots achieved their full value.
A star attraction in the sale was a CASE Maximum 135 from a local enthusiast, this achieved £24,800, selling to dealers from Staffordshire.
Another lot that attracted a lot of attention was a 2015 Hudson 22ft Livestock Box with Decks and all the extras, this achieved an unbelievable £19,200, several thousand more than first expected.
None VAT items topped at £12,000 for a New Holland 8240 in clean condition, selling out of the trade to local farmers.
Plant items were some of the easiest items to sell, with a Takeuchi TB125, 2008, with 5500hrs on the clock, realising £13,500.
Clean, genuine machinery was forward in overwhelming quantities, but nevertheless much more could have still been sold to vendors advantage, with crowds of buyers holding right until the end of the sale.
