On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 34 OTM Cattle.
The trade in the cast cow ring was on fire here today with Messrs P & MR Carruthers, Raw Foot, selling British Blue cows to 248.5ppk/£2047.50 and 237.5ppk/£2054.38, both purchased by Mr Owain Llyr.
Messrs G & JE Bell, Far Broom, sold perfectly finished Limousin cows to a top of £1810.48 (213.5ppk), purchased by Jewitt Meat Co, this run of cows averaged £1751.90.
Messrs Hayton, Penny Hill, sold farm assured Holstein cows through our TB Exempt section to 145.5ppk/£1198.92, purchased by Mr T Fell, with this run averaging £1114.71/142ppk.
Young Black & White cows from Messrs H & EM Hunter & Son, Berrier Head Farm, sold to a top of 178.5ppk, purchased by Mr J Crapper.
Stock bulls topped at £1594.48 for a seven-year-old Limousin from Messrs M Bindloss, Shap Abbey, purchased by Mr Owain Llyr.
